Big Problem: Security Clearances

According to multiple sources including Reddit, "Both the President and every single member of Congress are exempt from the need for a security clearance. They're not considered to get a clearance; they're supposed not to need one (their election by the people of the United States is their check). They still need to have need-to-know before they see classified info, but the President decides who needs to know things, and with Congress, the relevant committees need to know.

Technically speaking, the entire system of classified National Security Information in the US exists purely by executive order."

The trouble begins when political parties fail to vet candidates before election employing the same criterion and rigor used by the clearing authorities. Otherwise, some very nasty people can advance in the system without being vetted until it is too late.

In a sense, the Special Prosecutor is now vetting Donald Trump.

The current process governing elected officials is flawed and dangerous.
