Be the first candidate to surrender?

Trump cannot be the first presidential candidate to surrender because that dishonor belongs to H. Ross Perot who dropped out in 1992. Perot may have dropped out resulting from the apparent weakness of his vice presidential pick, Thomas Eagleton who may have been losing his mental capacity.

Vice presidential picks matter and voters will soon see Micke Pence and Tim Kaine go at it in a debate. However, there is this logical fact:

Loser Trump + Loser Pence = Losers

Loser Trump + Winner Pence = Hard Loss

Winner Clinton + Loser Kaine = Soft Loss

Winner Clinton + Winner Kaine = Solid Win

Vice presidential candidates must appeal to all Americans with much compassion. Mike Pence has never been one for compassion. Tim Kaine is full on for that characteristic.
