Sedition Watch

Sedition Watch

By James A. George, Independent Journalist, Talon Publishing

According to FindLaw, “Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.

The Wiki definition is as follows: “Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organization, that tends toward rebellion against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent toward, or rebellion against, established authority. Sedition may include any commotion, though not aimed at direct and open violence against the laws. Seditious words in writing are seditious libel. A seditionist is one who engages in or promotes the interest of sedition.”

Listening to Donald J. Trump and his disciples, he and they are intent on undermining the American Political System including the election process. By continuing to promote baseless and fraudulent claims, they are acting seditiously to destabilize the government. Being in opposition to the incumbent party and President is acceptable. However, making baseless charges and conducting political rallies intent in disrupting the government are unacceptable. His and their actions will test the first amendment, the right of free speech.

Yet, there is the rule of law and sedition is one of them.

President Trump and his disciples have already demonstrated acts of sedition. On his departure from office, add sedition to the list of prosecutable charges against the loser-president.

End Trump's Frivolity

Everywhere you turn, today, legal professionals report that Trump and Guiliani’s lawsuits are frivolous and baseless, which amount to costing taxpayers time and money to process and dismiss them.

Most important, the charges feed into the hands of our enemies, like the Russians, who seek to destabilize our government. Complicit with them are Trump’s ignorant followers, the people he exploits for his political and business gain.

How can a nation under the rule of law, shut him down?

Protecting freedom of speech is one thing. Permitting legal challenges is another. What if his intentions are not with legal intent?

“Trump Has a “Right to Pursue Legal Challenges” to Election, But Not Without the Facts

The unofficial “show me” Missouri state slogan is not just an appropriate moniker for election legal challenges. It is a well-settled ethical requirement imposed by legislatures and courts for the filing of any litigation in this country.

The president may not have to worry about keeping a job after January 20, 2021, but the attorneys doing his bidding at the moment certainly do.

Shocking and disgraceful

I am ashamed of American women who voted for Trump – 55%

All I can do is shake my head and walk away from this nation on that stat alone.

“Among White women, according to NBC News, 43 percent supported Biden and 55 percent supported Trump. About 91 percent of Black women supported the former vice president and 8 percent supported Trump. Roughly 70 percent of Latina women supported Biden and 28 percent supported the outgoing president.”

My support remains for every citizen of color and everyone representing the nation's diverse population. I may not look like one of them, but my heart and soul are with them.

American white women will never be the same to me as I will always question their integrity unless they prove otherwise.

Report Card: ½ the Class, Failed

The report card from How to Select an American President isn’t very good. At best, ½ of the class might have passed the test, though not on the merit of well-versed knowledge and skill.

In 2016, Joe Biden was the best choice based on my scoring method and algorithm. Biden had the Vice President advantage. The Democrats chose Hillary Clinton instead. Her qualifications and experience were alright, except not the better of the two.

As for Republicans and Trump, their choice was horribly mistaken for explicit reasons in my book. His credentials were not properly vetted. When facts emerged about his performance in business, they revealed deceit and malperformance. Those findings pointed to deeply seeded character flaws that were well-documented in his past. Then, came explosive revelations about his misogynous behavior, also well-documented.

With all the evidence, Republicans accepted him. Why? Many Republicans are racist bigots. Many have failed to embrace standards and a process that ensures proper vetting. They are enveloped by mythology and ideology that undermine democratic ideas.

Can I prove that? Absolutely, it is explained in my book, How to Select an American President by James A George and James A. Rodger © 2017 Archway Publishing.

If you didn’t read it, you failed the course.
