Pundit, Frida Ghitis says "Pence gave a smooth, but can't defend Trump." That sums up the essence of the debate last night. Pence won on style, while Kaine won on substance. Both defended their candidates, and in the end, there is much more substance from Kaine to consider than from Pence.
Trump and Pence are bumper sticker candidates while the nation needs plans, programs, and actions in a troubled world. That is, their pop phrases sound good, but as Pence mimicked Ronald Reagan, "There they go again, and again."
In another description by pundit, Sally Kohn: "Mike Pence is living on an alternate planet." Pence makes stuff up while failing to address what Donald Trump says.
