The GOP-led and Trump-demanded tax plan will harm the nation both near term and in the long run. It increases the debt irresponsibly. Trump said it would pay for itself. He is wrong and lied as that is what this President does.

The Republican plan for a massive tax overhaul steamed toward Senate passage on Thursday, even as a nonpartisan congressional scorekeeper said the plan would fall short of GOP claims that it would pay for itself.
