Is lying by a federal officer a felony?

Republicans in Congress believe that President Donald Trump's lying is fine with them, except it isn't acceptable by most Americans. Most important, lying by a federal government officer is against the law.

President Trump is a perpetrator of lying and should be removed from office along with all Republican officeholders in Congress who go along with him.

"Making false statements (18 U.S.C. § 1001) is the common name for the United States federal process crime laid out in Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code, which generally prohibits knowingly and willfully making false or fraudulent statements, or concealing information, in "any matter within the jurisdiction" of the federal government of the United States,[1] even by merely denying guilt when asked by a federal agent."

Allegiance to the Republic and Rule of Law

My book, How to Select an American President by James A. George and James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing, addresses the subject of "allegiance."

"In our system, party affiliation and loyalty matter because allegiance matters as do relationships. When relationships are loose and tentative, that may increase risk or otherwise make it more difficult to form teams and to staff the administration. Collaborative team-building is an important ability."

The trouble with Trump as evidenced by his consistent behavior and performance include:

  • Disrespect for the rule of law
  • Incessant lying as a federal government official that is a crime
  • A propensity to direct persons to disobey the law
  • Disregard for rules and regulations
  • Disrespect for individuals including members of his cabinet and political party
  • Disrespect for women and minorities

I surveyed my book for paragraphs that addressed allegiance and quoted them below.

"Memberships and Political Party Affiliation
Today we have a two-party system with a role to play by independents too. There are Republicans and Democrats for sure, and these are the big labels. Something to consider in historical context is that there is always a possibility that new political groups will form either as fragments from the mainstream parties or as separate organizations. That is the way it has always been. Also, there have been shifts in thinking between Republicans and Democrats over such issues as states’ rights and the role of the federal government. There are a few constants.
Today, (2016) for instance, Donald Trump is presently running as a Republican candidate. However, resistance to him among his party has caused him to say that he just might run as an independent. Nothing is guaranteed, even at a late date in the campaign.
Fiscal conservatism is another example. Parties may express their desire for such though both parties vary and deviate when it comes to practice."

"'Libertarianism is the advocacy of individual liberty, especially freedom of thought and action.  Libertarianism includes diverse philosophies and organizations; all advocate either minimization or elimination of the state and a goal of maximizing individual liberty and freedom.'
'Reading that definition makes one wonder how libertarians reconcile their allegiance to the United States."

Regarding George Washington's membership as a Mason
"The Masonic order was troublesome to some for a variety of reasons, not the least is that it had its origins in the United Kingdom.  Also, 1) it is a secret and exclusive society; 2) membership requires an oath of allegiance that some consider being potentially contradictory with allegiance to the Constitution, and 3) women are excluded from membership."
"Many sources identify the presidents’ spouses. All except one had one or more of them; being able to evaluate relationships or understand significance often comes later after their lives became more public. Some people think they don’t vote for spouses, but historians write that they can play a very significant role in the White House and may influence presidents. The flirtatious behavior of many Presidents is well documented, except on the White House website of President Biographies. Some people believe that there is a relationship between fidelity and allegiance."

"Marital status
While nearly all Presidents have been married, this factor is not so relevant except to know about the spouse to the extent that the spouse will not detract from the Presidency in any way. Throughout history, president’s spouses have played significant roles in strengthening presidents and their performance. Infidelity with a spouse is akin to broken allegiance. It is a behavioral deficiency worth deliberating."

"Military Experience
Being Commander-in-Chief, it seems appropriate to expect presidential candidates to have served their country in military service. This is not a requirement though many presidents have served as officers or enlisted soldiers. It is one way to demonstrate allegiance to the nation and willingness to give of oneself for the national purpose."
"One of the most important indications of allegiance to the nation is having devoted time in military service. There are other ways to do this, but nothing can match putting one’s life on the line. There are different levels of consideration. A veteran has served in combat. An officer has been qualified to lead in an executive or managerial position. A non-commissioned officer is another level of leadership that distinguishes from being an enlisted member of the armed forces."

"Affective
'An attribute of the human experience that describes feelings or emotions and sometimes attitudes or values; often used to describe learning objectives or outcomes.' This is the area of attitude about which Dr. James David Barber talks about as discussed.
Values include:
•    Allegiance to the Constitution and laws and regulations
•    Loyalty to party and community
•    Appreciation for diversity and collaboration"

"Political Party
Membership and participation in political parties is important. How engaged are candidates in the process of platform development? How closely aligned are candidates with their party and its initiatives?
Loyalty and allegiance to a political party is evidence of trust as it might serve to reduce risk about that to which a candidate stands."

“Are Republicans privately unhappy with some of Trump’s actions in the report? Yes of course. But the majority of Republicans are not going to go after the president on this because he has not been charged with a crime,” said another Republican strategist who requested anonymity."

William Barr, Fake AG

Acting as an agent for the President and not justice on behalf of all Americans, William Barr introduced his redacted version of the Mueller Report. The only way Americans can assess the report is by seeing it in its appropriate entirety and for members of the US Congress to review the document unredacted and with all supporting investigative materials.

On the surface and in the public domain is sufficient evidence to warrant the impeachment of Donald Trump.

Trump is a danger to democracy that persists in The White House as we speak.

Democracy Lost

Sorry to report that the battle to hold onto the American democratic experience was lost in 2016 with the election of Donald Trump. The war ended then and the Democratic Party is void of the capacity to deliver a winning candidate.

The old GOP was replaced by the Party of Trump. The party of Obama never emerged after Barrack's retreat and disappearance. Obama put his personal brand on the party and its mechanisms and when he left, there was nothing left. Clinton tried rebranding, though her legacy and baggage didn't work.

Neither of the two major political parties is worthy of public trust and support. Read my books such as How to Select an American President by James A. George and James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing. In that book, I recant American history to illustrate how political parties in America change. Today's experience is a repeat of history as if we have learned nothing.

Now, I am giving away A President's Manifesto by James A. George (c) 2019 All Rights Reserved because I want Americans to demand higher performance from Political Parties that includes publishing platforms and vetting candidates with the intention to produce superior representatives in resumes and verifiable credentials and character.

Get my latest book free by emailing: jimgeorgeauthorarchway@gmail.com. I will send a pdf and ibook copy that you can read and share with family and friends.

Remember, George Washington believed that we don't need political parties. We need qualified elected representatives based on high standards of competence and character.

If you don't improve your knowledge, the system will fail.
