Trump, learning to lead from behind

Truly, I doubt that Donald Trump is learning to lead from behind. However, he has learned that it can be punishing when you are on point all of the time taking the flack. In introducing revised, albeit a more sensible immigration order, Trump is letting Homeland Security take the lead.

From the start, Trump should not have issued the Guliani-Bannen EO that was overtly discriminatory. He should not have ever attacked religion in America.

What makes sense is to screen immigrants from nation states that have the highest potential for producing terrorists. What also makes sense is to have a population management policy that everyone understands.

Be it known that Trump and Congress have not addressed the U.S. Population Management Policy that is to describe our intentions to optimize population size with the nation's resources and to address optimal demographics with respect for the workforce. That is a different, though related topic.

"The new executive order removes Iraq from the list of predominantly-Muslim countries whose citizens will face a 90-day ban on travel to the United States, a senior administration official confirmed to NBC News. (The Pentagon and the State Department had reportedly pressed the White House to keep Iraq, an important ally in the battle against ISIS, off the list.) But the revised order keeps the temporary ban on citizens of Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and Libya.
The revised order would temporarily halt all refugee admissions to the U.S., a senior administration official familiar with the order told the New York Times, and remove extra restrictions on Syrian refugees. Syrian refugees will now be treated like refugees from other countries and be subjected to a 120-day suspension of the refugee program."

Not Being a Lawyer

Being educated in the law is one of the credentials that I strongly recommend in my new book, How to Select and American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing. There are many reasons and among them include: the jobs of Member of the House of Representatives, Senator, and President of the United States are all about creating, amending, retiring and replacing laws and regulations. Often, it might be said, "Oh, the President doesn't need to be a lawyer because he is surrounded by them."

Here is the problem with not being a lawyer when serving in elected offices in the Federal Government. Being a trained lawyer is not just about learning the law, it is about learning how to think and operate within the legal framework. Not having that mindset leads to deficiencies.

A President like Donald Trump is known in business to operate to the limits of the law and to exploit their weaknesses to his advantage to make a profit and to keep it from paying taxes. Government regulates capitalists like him for the good of the people by ensuring a balance among economic, social, and environmental responsibilities.

Trump and Republicans are now chopping off the Environmental Protection Agency, for instance. They don't like the cost of ensuring clean air and water and don't want the regulations. That action is not good for citizens but may be good for capitalists in the short run, until they run out of clean vital resources.

Not all lawyers work on the side of what is good.

On the docket this morning is that the "House Judiciary Committee Dems to ask WH counsel for details of communications with FBI, DOJ." The Trump White House keep trying to interfere in investigations by agencies into its own bad behavior. The corrupted Congress does too. So, Democrats must keep the torch aimed at the areas of possible abuse of the law and due process.

Several Democrats on the House Judiciary plan to send a letter to White House counsel Don McGahn on Monday, urging him to release information on communications between his office and the FBI and Justice Department.
“We write to express our concern regarding reports of improper contacts between your office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, concerning the FBI’s ongoing review of efforts by the Russian government to unlawfully influence the U.S. presidential election in favor of Mr. Trump,” a draft of the letter reads.
The letter details the weekend’s events surrounding President Trump’s allegation that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower during the presidential election. The lawmakers say that reports of contact between McGahn’s office and federal law enforcement were “more troubling.”

'Deep State' code word for DSh_t

A story from The Washington Post describes the chaotic scene at The White House and an angry President. He was so upset that he dumped his chief of staff and top advisor from going to Mar-a-Lago with him for a sixth vacation since his Presidency began.

"In a huff, Trump departed for Mar-a-Lago, taking with him only his daughter and Kushner, who is a White House senior adviser. His top two aides, Chief of Staff Reince Priebus and Bannon, stayed behind in Washington."

Steve Bannen and Trump conjured up another enemy to blame. This time, it is the military industrial complex that is now called the "Deep State." To this analyst, Trump is in deep sh_t from his errant blabbing and undisciplined behavior. He has made terrible appointments. He can't get a cure for ObamaCare that doesn't taste and look like the Affordable Care Act. Tim Price is already in the woodshed.

Vice President Pence might be the only sane person remaining. Don't be fooled. He was appointed by Trump and remains loyal to the illegitimate government.

Blaming his Chief of Staff

High Crime President Trump

Trump, the high-crime President, is about to go even higher than an emolument clause violation. He continues to serve as President with conflicts of interest, and that will soon catch up with him as the suits are filed.  His behavior is becoming increasingly apparent among citizens as known among his billionaire peers for being a huckster.

It was no secret to intelligent voters, the majority who voted against him. He lies constantly, and that is a violation of the Federal Law. He can be tried for impeachment for that.

The trouble is that the House of Representatives under the leadership of Speaker, Paul Ryan is conflicted and obstructing justice. That circumstance pressures Constitutional law whereby impeachment must be initiated by the House of Representatives before it is prosecuted in the Senate. The Republican-led Senate is also conflicted in its duty. This situation creates a Constitutional crisis.

Now, the news this Sunday is that Trump will have to break the law to pass his budget. That is an impeachable offense.

Federal taxes, spending, deficits, debt, and politics.
The White House either hasn’t thought through what it’s going to take to put the just-announced Trump spending plans in place or doesn’t really care.
The bottom line is that the president and OMB Director Mick Mulvaney may have to violate their oaths of office by breaking federal law to do what the administration wants to do on federal spending.
On Monday, the Office of Management and Budget held a largely nonsensical conference call with reporters to announce what was already largely known: Trump is going to propose a big increase in military spending and an offsetting decrease in domestic programs.

Ballistic President Trump

Known for his talk about nuclear weapons build-up, Trump just went 'ballistic' again on his staff. A 'White House' historian was on-hand by the miracle of the Internet to record the somber lashing event.

Depicted here is Trump on the phone with AG Jeff Sessions telling him to "stay home and take a day away" after his performance on Saturday Night Live. He is driving the SNL rating sky high.

Meanwhile, in other news, Arnold Schwarzenegger quit The Apprentice.

This is not "fake news," it is satire.

If, if, if, maybe you DT go to GITMO

No fake news is here. Donald Trump's PR team is walking back Trump's undeniable accusation that Obama had him wiretapped illegally. Trump's charge and call of investigation are boomeranging like its inquiry of leaks by the FBI discovered that it was Trump's improperly secured Android phone.

“All we’re saying is let’s take a closer look. Let’s look into this. If this happened, if this is accurate, this is the biggest overreach, and the biggest scandal,” White House principal deputy press secretary Sarah Huckabee said on ABC’s “This Week” Sunday.
“If, if, if, if....,” pressed “This Week” co-anchor Martha Raddatz, “Why is the president saying it did happen?”
“Look, I think he's going off of information that he's seen that has led him to believe that this is a very real potential,” Huckabee Sanders responded. “I think he’s made very clear what he believes, and he’s asking that we get down to the bottom of this, get the truth here.”

Lying by Trump is a federal crime and worthy of impeachment. He lies all of the time, and those falsehoods are strangling him.

Double Trouble: Trump's Misbehavior

President Trump consistently demonstrates that he has no respect for his office, no respect for the law, and no self-control among other things. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) summed it up factually this morning on Meet the Press backed by his legal credentials.

Trump is not a lawyer, and by my book, How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017, that is a deficiency. The reason is that the job of President is all about laws and regulations, creating them, maintaining, retiring and replacing. As important, the President is responsible for managing the operational environment that is enacted by Congressionally created laws and regulations.

Trump is unsuited for managing the federal government enterprise, and his temperament and mental state are unfit for the job.

Making false statements (18 U.S.C. § 1001) is the common name for the United States federal crime laid out in Section 1001 of Title 18 of the United States Code. The law prohibits knowingly and willfully making false or fraudulent statements or concealing information, in "any matter within the jurisdiction" of the federal government of the United States, even by mere denial.

President Trump has committed this type of crime repeatedly and needs to be impeached because his misbehavior is incessant. Interestingly, he was expelled from school in his lifetime for bad behavior. It is an inherent characteristic.
Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-N.Y.) on Sunday raised questions about President Trump's claims that former President Barack Obama wiretapped Trump Tower before the election.
In an interview on NBC's "Meet The Press," Schumer said Obama has "flatly denied that he has done this."
"And either way, Chuck, the president's in trouble. If he falsely spread this kind of misinformation, that is so wrong," Schumer said.
"It's beneath the dignity of the presidency. It is something that really hurts people's view of government."
Schumer said if this is the case, it shows the president doesn't know how to "conduct himself."
"On the other hand, if it's true, it's even worse for the president," Schumer said.
"Because that means that a federal judge, independently elected, has found probable cause that the president, or people on his staff, have probable cause to have broken the law or to have interacted with a foreign agent."
Schumer called that possibility "serious stuff.""
