Necessity of investigating Trump taxes

It was a prudent and conservative thing to do, to go slowly and deliberately about obtaining Donald Trump's tax returns. He had the right to privacy up to a point. When did that change?

The change in Trump's status happened the moment he ran for public office as that initiated full and complete public scrutiny. As explained thoroughly in my book, How to Select an America President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing.

The first obligation in vetting Donald Trump should have been the Republican Party as he and they chose to be his host. Political parties should be obliged to vet, verify and validate candidates' qualifications and credentials as reported on their resumes. There is no universal standard for that, though that is not an excuse for Political Parties being negligent because candidates wear their brand.

Such vetting would surely include an audit of business relationships to ensure the way for eliminating conflicts of interest and ensuring that the candidate has no legal impediments.

Senator Lindsay Graham weighed in on that point today.

Trump has left himself wide open to criticism and has put the nation at risk by failing to cooperate fully.
