Comey Fired

It may not come as a shock that James Comey has been terminated by Donald Trump for his egregious conduct as FBI Director including having lied to Congressional investigators this past week before the eyes of the nation.

His past performance has been relentlessly criticized by Democrats and some Republicans too. His leadership undermined the "Bureau's" credibility. The question remains, who will Trump nominate and who will the Senate approve?

What is next?

  1. FBI clarifies Comey testimony on Clinton emails
The FBI on Tuesday clarified testimony made by Director James Comey before a Senate panel regarding the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

Comey had told the Senate Judiciary Committee last week that longtime Clinton aide Huma Abedin forwarded “hundreds and thousands” of Clinton’s emails to her then-husband, former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.), to print out for the secretary of State.

In fact, the bureau said in a letter sent to the Senate panel Tuesday that only a handful of the 49,000 relevant emails it uncovered on Weiner’s laptop had been forwarded manually. Most of the emails got onto the computer as a result of backups of her Blackberry.

  2. Here is a pertinent comment from a reader.

"Somehow, the egomaniac now elected president by our archaic electoral college and the twists of fate, manages to insert his fingerprints of "three times ...." and thanx for his lack of culpability and "you're fired." Ah, the drama of it all. The timing. The headlines. DJT in the middle. Oh, such a perfect schematic for a television program. Who needs GAME OF CARDS? Of course, it is all about him, but not in the kindly way he infers...AND his post election concern for Hillary. Say what? If there were a personal assurance of innocence prior to the completion of the investigation, it is an improper relationship between judiciary and executive. What next? I feel as though these hundred plus days have been like a maniacal paper shredder of our country's principles. It is not political party I worry about, but the survival of our democracy. Wake up...stand up..."long may our land be bright".
