According to The Washington Post, there are nominees under consideration for FBI Director that include a couple who should be eliminated at once. One is Sen. John Cornyn and the other is Alice Fisher.
There two good candidates among them, Andrew McCabe and Michael Garcia.
"Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe, Sen. John Cornyn among four to be interviewed for permanent FBI director job
The administration is interviewing four people Saturday for the job, according to people familiar with the matter, after President Trump fired James B. Comey earlier this week: McCabe; Cornyn, a Republican senator representing Texas; Alice Fisher, a white-collar defense lawyer who previously led the department’s criminal division; and Michael J. Garcia, a judge on the New York State Court of Appeals. They will be interviewed by Attorney General Jeff Sessions and Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein."

This analyst's assessment:
- Yes to Acting FBI Director Andrew McCabe.
- Yes to Judge, Michael J. Garcia.
- No to Cornyn because he is too partisan.
- No to Alice Fisher, too problematic.
Not Cornyn!
