Only two Republicans attended the Insurrection Memorial Service in the House of Representatives; today is a declaration of the continuing war between Democrats and Republicans. (Liz and Dick Cheney showed up.)
Republicans' refusal to submit to the facts and their continuing to follow Donald J. Trump is not only a disservice to the integrity of the Republican Party. It is an insult to the American democratic republic.
The Democratic leadership doesn't enthrall me, though the presence of Republicans in government who are failing to uphold their oath and allegiance to the Constitution accosts us all.
I demand change—leaders to come forward to fight for the preservation of democracy and equal rights for all.
President Biden laid down the gauntlet today as AG Garland did yesterday. I support our officials who will take down Trump and his conspirators and lock them up.
