Can Republicans Rein in Trump?

Americans are witnessing Donald Trump unleashed in the opening days of his administration. He is ranting and his rants contain familiar themes that are a continuation of his campaign. There are ominous signs that his character and behavior are unbecoming aka unfit for the office that holds. He is authoritarian, talks loudly, and carries the nuclear weapon codes.

With orders to his propagandists, they have invented the notion of "alternative facts." Those are simply lies.

He personally spews lies and theories as if they embody truth, and they don't. Now, he is ordering a clampdown in government agencies to withhold the truth or not to speak or share information that belongs to the public.

These behaviors are unAmerican. The President is on a path to which he is building the case that he is not defending and upholding his Constitutional duty.

Democratic congressional representatives and Senators will do their best to control him. The force lies with the Republicans who helped invent and advance Donald Trump who bears their brand of politics.

They saw it coming.

God save America.

"Congressional Republicans promise that they’d put the clamps on a President Trump. And what exactly have they done to demonstrate that this would be the case?

Lost in the latest news cycle of Trumpian outrages and insanity was a move by House and Senate Republicans last week to block any inquiries into Donald Trump and his gang’s web of ties to Russia. This despite the fact that the candidate’s financial entanglements and Putinite sympathies could negatively impact foreign policy and national security should he become president. So are these the people we’re supposed to count on to keep a President Donald Trump from blowing up the world?"
