'A powder keg moment'

The Trump administration is in deep trouble. What we see on the surface is deeply disturbing and prompts calls for a deep investigation. What citizens have heard from the Republican-led Congress is footdragging.

Behind the scenes, the FBI, CIA, and Treasury Department investigators are active. What might be missing are leaders who are willing to risk criticism and worse by the administration and other politicians who are tainted or conflicted in the process.

America has never been in a situation like we are experiencing today. Daily actions by the President and associated deficiencies in his administration are dripping evidence, ever so slowly, that indicate grounds for impeachment and worse.

"Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) on Tuesday called Flynn's resignation a 'powder keg' moment in history.
"Will our branch of government respond? Will we initiate thorough investigations?" he asked from the Senate floor. "It is time for us to have an independent commissioner beyond Congress look into this and give us solid answers."
Democrats are using the fallout over Flynn's resignation to demand that an independent commission or special committee probe Russia's meddling into last year's U.S. presidential race and possible ties between Moscow and President Trump's campaign team, including Flynn's pre-inauguration talks."
