My fellow Democrats are up the proverbial creek and paddling like hell for reelection. Essential is 1) explaining what is happening and why and 2) describing what to do about it.
The pandemic demanded that the government (we citizens) chipped in to mitigate the effect of the loss of work and production. We did that by having congress distribute benefits to help. That worked. However, it also drained the treasury.
There is no free lunch, though Republicans decided they did not want wealthy constituents and corporations to pay by their means. Republicans subscribed to the failed economic idea of trickle-down and gave them untimely tax relief.
The Russians attacked Ukraine and cut off the world's petroleum supply. OPEC piled on, and that combination fueled inflation. President Biden and Democrats sought to mitigate the effect with actions that lowered some costs. Needed is more action.
For congressional action to be effective, congress must work bipartisanly. That isn't happening because the Republican Party has turned criminal. There is no excellent way to say it. They are insurrectionists, misogynists, and racists.
Republicans must be removed from office, or our nation will become a failed democracy.
