The US Senate stole democracy

The travesty of the current President and Congress cannot be undone until all are impeached.

It began when the Republican-controlled US Senate failed to fill the vacancy with the highly-qualified and neutral judge nominee, Merrick Garland, nominated by Barack Obama. Senator Mitch McConnell used administrative techniques to obstruct the legal appointment. That means that he obstructed justice by failing to do his duty as a US Senator and by conspiring against the US Constitution. That is the charge, conspiracy to obstruct justice levied against Mitch McConnell and the US Senate majority.

“I’ve been here through the night talking about this to say how important this is that we not do this, that to proceed to fill this stolen seat that will damage the court for decades to come and damage the Senate for decades to come,” he said Wednesday morning.

On the face of the evidence, both nominees are qualified. That is not the point. The fact is that Merrick Garland should have been seated and he was obstructed without merit for a political cause.

Given the unstable status of President Trump who is under investigation, Justice Gorsuch nomination should be on-hold at a minimum. Truly, he should go back on the deck and Justice Garland should be at bat.
