Nunes steps down 'temporarily'

Devin Nunes holds open the possibility of returning to the position of House Intelligence Committee Chairman pending his being cleared of wrongdoing. The House Ethics Committee will investigate. Given the compromising of justice by the House leadership, including alleged obstruction of justice by Speaker Ryan, citizens should not hold their breath that the ethics matter will result in a satisfactory outcome.

Nunes is damaged goods, now.

He ran to The White House to work with the Trump staff to beef up cover for the President who falsely claims that Obama is out to get him. The "Deep State" is too, according to Trump.

Citizens will be best served when the Treasury, FBI, and NSA get onto the same page and produce evidence for bringing the President and his men to trial.

"House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes recuses himself from Russia probe
In a statement, Nunes said he would temporarily step aside as head of the House Intelligence Committee's ongoing investigation into Russian involvement in the U.S. elections.
Nunes said in a statement that he decided to recuse himself after “several leftwing activist groups” filed complaints with the Office of Congressional Ethics. Nunes said those charges are “entirely false and politically motivated.” Nunes said his recusal will be in effect while the House Ethics Committee looks into the matter.
Reps. Michael Conaway (R-Tex.) will take the lead on the investigation with assistance from Trey Gowdy (R-S.C.) and Tom Rooney (R-Fla.)."
