Parsing Nikki Haley's Words

No Basis for Trust

I listened intently to every word in Nikki Haley's first campaign speech today. There were no substantive content, manifesto, or implications for a Republican Party Platform (which should have come first, though it does not exist.)

  1. Experience as South Carolina Governor -- She was a good governor, enhancing her light resume.
  2. Relative Youth
  3. Stale Ideas and Faded Names of the Past -- she said that except has offered nothing to demonstrate fresh ideas and solutions to the nation's pressing needs and problems.
  4. Trump Appointed her U.N. Ambassador -- surprising; she was excellent.
  5. The First Minority Female Governor in History -- indisputable
  6. America is not a Racist Country -- she said that, except that is not the facts or history.
  7. Support of Tax and Regulation Cuts -- this is the old Republican party line and the trickle-down notion that doesn't work.
  8. Biden Bashing -- bashing in the absence of specifics proves nothing -- air ball.

South Carolina, at 5.191 million population, is smaller than Georgia and North Carolina. Ohio, for instance, is larger than those states. S.C. is important because it hosts the U.S. Military. There are eight military bases in South Carolina. Every armed forces branch except the Coast Guard has bases in S.C. South Carolina, including Fort Jackson, U.S. Navy Hospital Beaufort, Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Shaw Air Force Base, Joint Base Charleston, Marine Corps Air Station Beaufort, and Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island.

"The economy of South Carolina was ranked the 25th largest in the United States based on the gross domestic product in 2022. Tourism, centered around Myrtle BeachCharleston, and Hilton Head Island, is the state's largest industry. The state's other major economic sector is advanced manufacturing located primarily in the Upstate and the Lowcountry."

Nikki's husband, William Michael Haley, is a commissioned officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard who served as the First Gentleman of South Carolina from 2011 to 2017. He was the first man to hold the position. He is the husband of former U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. and former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley.

Nikki Haley's albatross is from her compromising her integrity to follow Trump.
