Do you want deconstruction?

The correct word is defenestration and applies to the notion of ridding the government of unnecessary administration.

The trouble begins when identifying what is necessary and what is not. The discipline for correcting and streamlining potentially bloated bureaucracy is business process reengineering (BPR).

Here is a review of the correct approach to improving government performance. What you see from Donald Trump and Republicans is an arbitrary, ideological-driven and authoritarian approach that is not aligned with being a pluralistic democratic republic. Otherwise, Donald Trump and the Republican Congress have overthrown democracy in America, for the time. American citizens must fight to restore it or else suffer miserable consequences.

de·fen·es·tra·tion
dēˌfenəˈstrāSHən/Submit
noun
1. formal humorous
the action of throwing someone or something out of a window.
"death by defenestration has a venerable history"
2. informal
the action of dismissing someone from a position of power or authority.
"that victory resulted in Churchill's own defenestration by the war-weary British electorate"

The correct way to improve government performance.

In our book, Smart Data, Enterprise Performance Optimization Strategy by James A. George and James A. Rodger (c) 2010 Wiley Publishing, Dr. Rodger and I describe the approach used by the Department of Defense and others to engineer systems to produce required outcomes. It is akin to "outcome-driven" government from a "service-oriented" enterprise such as the federal government.

The Trump approach might be compared with asking your massage therapist to perform open-heart surgery. He isn't qualified and hasn't done his homework. Many in Congress are not adequately trained and prepared either.

"Fixing" America begins with citizen-voters improving how they select and elect candidates for public office. Our book, How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing applies to choosing all candidates for public office.

The next article in this series will describe the correct approach to improving government performance. I submit that "throwing everything out the window" is incorrect unless you are referring to removing the present regime by impeachment. That is appropriate.

Warning
"The warning to Americans from the government is clear: your national defense will be well-funded and your security will be a priority, but for benefits beyond the most basic services, don't count on me. It's a kind of break-up note to taxpayers. Uncle Sam can still be your friend, sure, but that's it. Nothing more."

  1. Trump and Republicans did a bait and switch on American voters. Their platform does not explain to voters what they had in mind.
