Devious and dubious buddies: Trump and Flynn

Donald Trump loves to play the game of deception and distraction. He knows that he can play an enormous audience of deplorable dupes. Deplorable doesn't mean poor in resources as much as it means deficient in intellect.

Donald Trump wants people to feel sorry for the American General who turned "foreign agent." That's right, after the fact, he decided to register as a foreign agent of Turkey. He neglected to say that he was also an agent of Russia.

What kind of "patriot" would turn to becoming a foreign agent? That is for you to ponder.

Having done so, I believe that he did it for the money. He was also in hot pursuit of a very big promotion that he did not land otherwise, that is, National Security Advisor to Donald Trump, President.

What may unwind in the course of "honest and forthright" testimony is evidence of misprision of fraud against Trump and possibly Pence too. That would be a bonus for the FBI.

What do they have in common?

  • Disdain for former President Barack Obama
  • Disdain for former Secretary of State and Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton
  • Love of power, combat, and intrigue
  • Desire or necessity to dance with the "devil" Russians in exchange for wealth and more power

What else?

Trump needed people with credentials to shore up his foreign policy and military staff. He needed someone so loyal that he would go along with Trump's Russian pickle. That is, allegedly, Trump is beholding to the Russians for their having rescued him from financial ruin, and in the course, having obtained material that they can use to blackmail him.

That's a journalist's speculation, in part. However, particles of truth build to make a story plausible. Only the authorities can verify and validate actual occurrences.

As I described before, they are like fish in a barrel. See "Fish in a barrel."

Can he come clean?

  1. Trump and the GOP believe that the investigations are Democrat-inspired witch hunts. That could not be further from the truth. However, Trump and the GOP would not know the truth if it bit them in the Paul Ryan or Mitch McConnell.

  2. They are letting him dangle.

"A senior congressional official with direct knowledge said Flynn's lawyer was told it was "wildly preliminary" and that immunity was "not on the table" at the moment. A second source said the committee communicated that it is "not receptive" to Flynn's request "at this time."
