Devious and dubious buddies: Trump and Flynn

Donald Trump loves to play the game of deception and distraction. He knows that he can play an enormous audience of deplorable dupes. Deplorable doesn't mean poor in resources as much as it means deficient in intellect.

Donald Trump wants people to feel sorry for the American General who turned "foreign agent." That's right, after the fact, he decided to register as a foreign agent of Turkey. He neglected to say that he was also an agent of Russia.

What kind of "patriot" would turn to becoming a foreign agent? That is for you to ponder.

Having done so, I believe that he did it for the money. He was also in hot pursuit of a very big promotion that he did not land otherwise, that is, National Security Advisor to Donald Trump, President.

What may unwind in the course of "honest and forthright" testimony is evidence of misprision of fraud against Trump and possibly Pence too. That would be a bonus for the FBI.

What do they have in common?

  • Disdain for former President Barack Obama
  • Disdain for former Secretary of State and Presidential Candidate, Hillary Clinton
  • Love of power, combat, and intrigue
  • Desire or necessity to dance with the "devil" Russians in exchange for wealth and more power

What else?

Trump needed people with credentials to shore up his foreign policy and military staff. He needed someone so loyal that he would go along with Trump's Russian pickle. That is, allegedly, Trump is beholding to the Russians for their having rescued him from financial ruin, and in the course, having obtained material that they can use to blackmail him.

That's a journalist's speculation, in part. However, particles of truth build to make a story plausible. Only the authorities can verify and validate actual occurrences.

As I described before, they are like fish in a barrel. See "Fish in a barrel."

Can he come clean?

Is Michael Flynn a reliable witness?

Is Michael Flynn trustworthy?

Former National Security Advisor and Retired General, Michael Flynn, wants to testify before the FBI and investigative committees about his involvement in communicating with Russians during the Trump campaign and after that. He offers to do that if he is protected from prosecution.

The business of negotiating deals with witnesses in exchange for their testimony is a routine business for the FBI. However, the stakes could not be higher in this instance for many reasons:

  1. Flynn's testimony will cast insight about his personal role in engaging Russians, and that of the Trump campaign, other members of the Trump team, and Trump himself.
  2. Flynn's testimony may be self-serving and untrustworthy, and therefore he may be on a mission to insulate others including the President. His being protected may give him more latitude to lie.
  3. Flynn has already lied and was forced to resign. He is already an untrustworthy witness. The difference or leverage held by the FBI is other evidence that is unknown to Flynn. His being untruthful would likely trap him in an instant. Another lie might supersede any dealmaking about his protection from prosecution.

Not being a lawyer, this is an independent journalist's analysis.

"Michael Flynn Seeks Immunity In Exchange For Testifying To Congress, FBI
According to the Wall Street Journal, Flynn’s offer has not been accepted.
By Mollie Reilly

Retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who briefly served as national security adviser to President Donald Trump, is seeking immunity from prosecution in exchange for testifying to those conducting investigations into the president’s ties to Russia, the Wall Street Journal reported Thursday.
According to the report, Flynn made the offer to the FBI, the House intelligence committee and the Senate Intelligence committee. All three entities are currently investigating whether Trump’s associates had contact with Russian officials during the 2016 presidential campaign. According to the Wall Street Journal, none of them have yet accepted Flynn’s offer.
(content omitted)
“No reasonable person, who has the benefit of advice from counsel, would submit to questioning in such a highly politicized, witch hunt environment without assurances against unfair prosecution,” he said."

Loyalty and Allegiance

There are many qualities and behavioral characteristics that are essential for being effective leaders. In the context of evaluating presidential candidates, my book, How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing, discusses them in detail.

Loyalty and allegiance are required behaviors. Loyalty is a strong feeling of support or allegiance. Allegiance in this context means a commitment to the nation from having demonstrated alignment with a political party and its platform.

I did not say this in the book exactly so that I will say it here, loyalty and allegiance begin at home. If you betray your spouse or family through compromising deeds and behavior, it isn't likely that people whom you don't know would expect you to be loyal to them.

If you are a religious person, you may know that the Ten Commandments address this. While you may ask for forgiveness, the act of betrayal will be the same as if you are a witness who lied on the witness stand. Trust, from that point on is suspect.

Citizens have every right to demand the highest standard of behavior from a President, Congressional Representative, or any other elected official.

There are some ways to demonstrate loyalty and allegiance beginning by serving your country in an unselfish capacity such as joining the military service. You might volunteer for the Peace Corps or Foreign Service. You might volunteer for community service.

Of course, another indication is for individuals to be beyond reproach when it comes to obeying laws and regulations. An individual that commits fraud, for instance, is unacceptable even when they settle out of court as a way to cleanse themselves of the obligation to repay those who are harmed.

Hear me loudly and clearly, President Donald Trump fails the loyalty and allegiance test. He was even waffling on loyalty to the Republican Party while campaigning. How could this person ever be trusted to do as he promises?

For those who are religious

Why 'Mr. Broke-it' can't fix it

First off, he is illegitimate. If you get past that, there much more.

This article is the second in a series of articles describing the correct approach to improving the American government system. The method is based on Smart Data, Enterprise Performance Optimization Strategy by James A. George and James A. Rodger (c) 2010 Wiley Publishing and How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing.

With bravado, Donald Trump promised to "drain the swamp," of excess government bureaucracy. That may have broad appeal to citizens who are income-constrained and tax-weary.

Any individual, including the President, who approaches the task of managing and improving the performance of the federal government enterprise without sincere humility is doomed to failure. I say that with 25 years of experience under my belt at supporting government executives doing just that.

Successful managers are those who embrace several ideas:

  1. Outcome-driven
  2. Service-oriented
  3. Systems engineering
  4. Automated regulatory environment
  5. Collaboration
  6. Predictive management

"Outcome-driven" requires that the executive begins by identifying and prioritizing essential outcomes. The Executive branch and Congress don't have an empty list from which they start the process. In fact, the government is a living operation of systems: people, processes, and technology that is governed by laws and regulations. An executive does not have liberty to work in a vacuum.

Here are your marching orders, Mr. President and Congress:

America's Priority Outcomes

  1. Nation secured economically - 100%
  2. Nation has a sustainable economy - 100%
  3. Nation secured militarily - 100%
  4. Homeland secured from terrorists - 100%
  5. Employment opportunities for all who can work - 100%
  6. Upward mobility for all who are prepared commensurate with ability - 100%
  7. All persons provided minimal sustainment as a baseline to start - 100%
  8. Social security assured for all persons - 100%
  9. Clean air and water - 100%
  10. Best education in the world - #1
  11. Freest nation in the world - #1
  12. Lowest crime rate in the world - #1 in the least crime per capita
  13. Affordable healthcare for all citizens - 100%

Now, how are you going to accomplish these things? What are the services to which you are legally committed to providing? What do you want to take away with permission from We the People?

Before embarking on deconstruction, how about communicating with us exactly where you stand?

By they way, the team that you are fielding to help you are not qualified for the task.

President Trump's team leaders are amateurs.

The news today is that in addition to the President's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, there is Dina Habib Powell.

"Dina Powell is the Trump administration’s Ms. Fix-It.
The deputy national security adviser for strategy, one of the few White House aides with extensive experience in a past Republican administration, has taken on a large list of responsibilities touching on foreign and domestic policy.
Besides serving as a deputy to national security adviser H.R. McMaster, Powell was asked by senior adviser Jared Kushner, the president’s son-in-law, to serve in a new office tasked with using private-sector ideas to overhaul the federal government.
Powell, who speaks Arabic and moved to the United States from Egypt at the age of 4, is also advising President Trump and his daughter Ivanka on economic initiatives.
Her rising power has brought additional scrutiny on the 43-year-old, who has come under criticism from some Trump loyalists and outside conservatives for her work at Goldman Sachs. Some accuse her of being a “Democrat in disguise.”"

Do you want deconstruction?

The correct word is defenestration and applies to the notion of ridding the government of unnecessary administration.

The trouble begins when identifying what is necessary and what is not. The discipline for correcting and streamlining potentially bloated bureaucracy is business process reengineering (BPR).

Here is a review of the correct approach to improving government performance. What you see from Donald Trump and Republicans is an arbitrary, ideological-driven and authoritarian approach that is not aligned with being a pluralistic democratic republic. Otherwise, Donald Trump and the Republican Congress have overthrown democracy in America, for the time. American citizens must fight to restore it or else suffer miserable consequences.

de·fen·es·tra·tion

1. formal humorous

"death by defenestration has a venerable history"
2. informal
the action of dismissing someone from a position of power or authority.
"that victory resulted in Churchill's own defenestration by the war-weary British electorate"

The correct way to improve government performance.

In our book, Smart Data, Enterprise Performance Optimization Strategy by James A. George and James A. Rodger (c) 2010 Wiley Publishing, Dr. Rodger and I describe the approach used by the Department of Defense and others to engineer systems to produce required outcomes. It is akin to "outcome-driven" government from a "service-oriented" enterprise such as the federal government.

The Trump approach might be compared with asking your massage therapist to perform open-heart surgery. He isn't qualified and hasn't done his homework. Many in Congress are not adequately trained and prepared either.

"Fixing" America begins with citizen-voters improving how they select and elect candidates for public office. Our book, How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing applies to choosing all candidates for public office.

The next article in this series will describe the correct approach to improving government performance. I submit that "throwing everything out the window" is incorrect unless you are referring to removing the present regime by impeachment. That is appropriate.

Warning
"The warning to Americans from the government is clear: your national defense will be well-funded and your security will be a priority, but for benefits beyond the most basic services, don't count on me. It's a kind of break-up note to taxpayers. Uncle Sam can still be your friend, sure, but that's it. Nothing more."

Be Aware: Legitimacy Is On Hold

With a dark cloud of alleged illegalities hanging over the Trump government, a suspicion that extends to Congress, legitimacy is on hold. There are many layers of reasons why:
  1. If the investigation into Russian interference by hacking, leaking, and propaganda indicates that there were coordination and cooperation with the Trump campaign, that will condemn the Trump government as being illegitimate.
  2. If the investigation into Donald Trump by the Treasury Department, FBI, and National Security Agency determine that Trump and his businesses have committed felony crimes or misdemeanors, Trump could be impeached and his government condemned to removal and replacement.
  3. If charges of Emolument Clause violation are prosecuted and proven in a court of law, meaning that Trump is performing as President with conflicts of interest, then he would be impeached with his administration in peril.
  4. If in the course of investigations, justice authorities determine that members of the Trump campaign, appointees, including the Vice President, and Members of Congress colluded or covered up, or obstructed justice, each would be subject to impeachment, and prosecution for Misprision of Fraud and other crimes.
Under foreseeable circumstances, the entire Constitutional protocol for replacing a President would be undermined by illegitimacy. The rule of law would be followed with Court supervision to seat and establish a new government subject to new elections.

Citizens should be informed about the process and consequences of impending investigations and their possible outcomes.

Members of Congress should be aware of the consequences of their missteps along the way.

Hiding Behind Presidential Communication Privilege

Trump is trying to hide behind Presidential Communication Privilege.

President Trump disrupted the House investigation last week by refusing Sally Yates from giving testimony by Executive Privilege. Democrats want Yates to testify that she was investigating Mike Flynn and that President Trump wanted her to stop it. That is why they believe she was terminated and not for her refusing to prosecute the President's illegal immigration ban. The President is a loser on all counts. This is now public evidence.

"In the United States government, executive privilege is the power claimed by the President of the United States and other members of the executive branch to resist certain subpoenas and other interventions by the legislative and judicial branches of government to access information and personnel relating to the executive branch. The concept of executive privilege is not mentioned explicitly in the United States Constitution, but the Supreme Court of the United States ruled it to be an element of the separation of powers doctrine and derived from the supremacy of executive branch in its area of Constitutional activity.'
'The Supreme Court confirmed the legitimacy of this doctrine in the United States v. Nixon, but only to the extent of confirming that there is a qualified privilege. Once invoked, a presumption of privilege is established, requiring the Prosecutor to make a "sufficient showing" that the "Presidential material" is "essential to the justice of the case" (418 U.S. at 713-14). Chief Justice Burger further stated that executive privilege would most effectively apply when the oversight of the executive would impair that branch's national security concerns.'
'Historically, the uses of executive privilege underscore the untested nature of the doctrine, since Presidents have sidestepped open confrontations with the United States Congress and the courts over the issue by first asserting the privilege, then producing some of the documents requested on an assertedly voluntary basis. '"
Wiki
"White House sought to block former acting attorney general Sally Yates from testifying to Congress on Russia
According to letters reviewed by The Post, Yates was told earlier this month by the Justice Department that the administration considers much of her possible testimony to be barred from a congressional hearing because the topics are covered by the presidential communication privilege.
Yates and other former intelligence officials had been asked to testify before the House Intelligence Committee this week, hearing that was abruptly canceled by the panel’s chairman, Rep. Devin Nunes. As acting attorney general, Yates played a key part in the investigation surrounding Michael Flynn, a Trump campaign aide who became national security adviser before it surfaced that he had discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador to the United States.
The Trump administration's position is likely to anger Democrats who say the House investigation is being damaged. They have called for the chairman of the House Intelligence Committee to recuse himself from the Russia probe."

Citizens don't know the President's job

In my book, How to Select an American President by James A. George with James A. Rodger (c) 2017 Archway Publishing, I work diligently to help citizens understand the job of the U.S. President. That is a prerequisite to defining the qualifications and requirements for presidential candidates. My fellow Americans are woefully unprepared to perform their duties to staff the government via the election process.

A small case in point is the news today about who Americans hold accountable for the actions to repeal and replace Obamacare.

Back in January, The Hill reported the results of a poll about the extent to which the nation favors or opposes Obamacare.

"A CNN/ORC poll finds that 49 percent of Americans favor ObamaCare. But 47 percent of respondents oppose President Obama's signature healthcare legislation.
The poll marks the first time more people have said they favor the healthcare law than oppose it since it passed in 2010, CNN noted.
Still, only 22 percent now say they or their families are better off since ObamaCare took effect, while 30 percent say they are worse off.
About 30 percent of respondents say the law hasn't helped anyone in the country.
Thirty-seven percent of respondents say they consider ObamaCare a failure, and just 23 percent say they see the law as a success.
President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to repeal and replace ObamaCare. The poll finds that 82 percent think that's at least somewhat likely."
http://thehill.com/policy/healthcare/315010-poll-nearly-50-percent-of-americans-favor-obamacare
The nation is about evenly divided on Obamacare, and a large majority did not expect Trump and Congress to be able to repeal and replace it. They know that it needs some fixes and probably would like Congress to make them.

Today's news
"Who gets the blame? - More from the survey: “Asked who’s most responsible for the bill’s failure, 27 percent of Americans put the bulk of the blame on its authors, with 17 percent naming the congressional Republicans who opposed the bill, another 17 percent naming Trump and 14 percent citing congressional Democrats. Just 4 percent of Trump voters, however, believe that Trump is most responsible for the bill’s failure, and only 11 percent assign him even partial responsibility. Instead, they cast the blame nearly everywhere else.”
The Huffington Post email

The President's job is to propose new legislation, to author changes and amendments. President Trump said many times that he had a solution in hand. He lied and failed.

This President is incompetent and untruthful.

Furthermore, the Republican Congress is divided about what to do. Without an agreement, it is impossible for them to act. They have deficient leadership from the President and terrible leadership from the Speaker of the House.

That is the truth.

Don't lose sight; it's democracy at stake

As a citizen living in an unstable democracy that is ruled by an illegitimate President and corrupt Congress, the news of the day must be parsed and prioritized.

Awaken each day with a splash of truth that your government has been hijacked by a corrupt political party, a Congress that is obstructing justice, and a President who rules illegally.

You have choices to make:

  1. Capitulate
  2. Resist
  3. Revolt

Going along will further undermine the nation and empower an authoritarian regime that is bent on undoing government purpose and services on which millions of citizens depend. That is not an idle threat as all you have to do is read the Republican Party Platform and watch the daily actions of the Trump White House.

You may decide to resist. Your options are limited to participating in legal protests. The regime ignores this unless you impede egress to and from The White House as the President wants his weekly vacations.

You may resist by donating to those who are taking legal actions against the regime.

When the regime threatens clean air and water on which you and your children depend, what do you do? When the regime expresses its intent to take away life-giving services to poor and elderly persons, what do you do?

When the regime attempts to control the media and to shut down the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, what do you do?

At what point do the anti-American actions by the Trump administration and Congress rise to the level of threatening your economic and personal security? When do citizens revolt?

Looking at the actions of Donald Trump and his administration and that of Congressional leaders, can you honestly say the pledge of allegiance in their name? You may be allegiant to the nation for which the flag stands, but withholding allegiance to a corrupt government is a worthy choice.

The news this morning talks about the fate of Paul Ryan and his continuing mission to destroy Obamacare. The news should be that 100% of the Democrats and 25% of Republicans clamor for his ousting

Fish in a barrel

Drip, drip, drip, is the sound of evidence dropping into the bucket, building toward a very-large indictment, perhaps the biggest and baddest trial in the history of democratic republics. Bring on the Trump hyperbole as he is going to go down.

For the second time, Mr. Trump, you are under arrest.
"A judge issued the warrant against two Russian banks for alleged money laundering, not against any individual people – but four people from the Trump campaign were named within that warrant (source: Heat Street). Now that Congressman Devin Nunes has announced on live television this week that someone in the White House is under surveillance, and now that Boris Epshteyn has abruptly resigned from the White House in the fallout from it, Mensch is confirming that Epshteyn was one of the four people named in the warrant. But it’s one of the other three names that sets off the biggest alarms.
In addition to Boris Epshteyn, the other three people in the Trump campaign who were named in the FISA warrant were Carter Page, Paul Manafort, and Donald Trump himself. For these four men to have been named in the FISA warrant granted by the judge, they would need to have been considered Russian agents, or Russian agents of influence.
In other words, back in October, a federal judge concluded that the FBI had sufficient evidence that Donald Trump was a (witting or unwitting) “agent of influence” of the Russian government about Russian money laundering."

Is Undoing Trump's Specialty?

Streamlining the government bureaucracy sounds like a good idea. In private enterprise, systems are in a continuous state of re-engineering and improvement. Business process re-engineering (BPR) is a discipline that was honed in the 1990s.

Applying BPR to the federal government was the hallmark of the Clinton Administration with Vice President, Al Gore, being in the lead to award best practices.

The Department of Defense institutionalized those disciplines as they advanced with the application of systems engineering and information technology. Also, the federal government's leadership in concert with private enterprise advanced the methods and tools needed to make initiatives successful.

One important lesson from this vast experience is not to attack problems and opportunities for which you have not the resources to see the job finished. Otherwise, you may make a bigger mess of performance than that which you initially discovered.

The Trump approach under the tutelage of Steve Bannon who is a most unqualified adviser on the subject is to strip away regulations. Regulations are the product of the legislative process. In a democracy, it is inappropriate to do this without close consultation, coordination, and support of Congress.

Now, Trump is deploying his son-in-law to embark upon streamlining the bureaucracy. He has no knowledge of the federal government. Maybe he learned some techniques in the MBA Program at Harvard.

"Despite the chaos and the growing credibility gap, Trump is systematically succeeding in his quest to “deconstruct the administrative state,” as his chief strategist Stephen K. Bannon puts it. He’s pursued the most aggressive regulatory rollback since Ronald Reagan, especially on environmental issues, with a series of bills and executive orders. He’s placed devoted ideologues into perches from which they can stop aggressively enforcing laws that conservatives don’t like. By not filling certain posts, he’s ensuring that certain government functions will simply not be performed. His budget proposal spotlighted his desire to make as much of the federal bureaucracy as possible wither on the vine.
-- Trump has been using executive orders to tie the hands of rule makers. He put in place a regulatory freeze during his first hours, mandated that two regulations be repealed for every new one that goes on the books and ordered a top-to-bottom review of the government with an eye toward shrinking it.
Any day now, Trump is expected to sign an executive order aimed at undoing Obama’s Clean Power Plan and end a moratorium on federal-land coal mining. This would ensure that the U.S. does not meet its commitments under the Paris climate agreement.
The administration is also preparing new executive orders to re-examine all 14 U.S. free trade agreements, including NAFTA, and the president could start to sign some of them this week."

When you get to retirement age, how well you feel is variable with your physical and mental condition. By the time most people get to retirement, they probably feel that they need the rest. They need a change from a life of hard work.

Republicans and others who are sitting around wondering how to extract more blood from old turnips should look in another direction. Embracing the notion of forced labor is unAmerican. It is erroneous to equate Social Security as being an unearned benefit.

If you have a shortfall, look to the drivers that include foreign policy and defense policy that we cannot afford.

"Struggling seniors who want government help should be put to work says, one reader
Assistance shouldn’t be free to anyone who can make a productive contribution in return for government assistance,” he wrote. “Have them pick up litter, sweep the streets, work in subsidized day care centers, prepare mailers, help in government offices, act as park and museum guides, something.”

Did you vote for Jared Kushner?

Jared Kushner possesses high academic credentials. He is a Harvard-trained lawyer. Those are fine entry-level credentials. At age 36, what has he accomplished?

"He was the principal owner of the real estate holding and development company Kushner Companies and Observer Media, publisher of the weekly, on-line New York Observer. On January 9, 2017, Kushner was named to be a Senior White House Adviser to his father-in-law, President Donald Trump. As a result, Kushner resigned as CEO of his family's real estate company and as publisher of the Observer. He also divested 'substantial assets.'"
Wiki

The fact that he was a successful business professional before becoming a politician is valued.

He had significant support from his father, a billionaire businessman. That is much like his father-in-law, Donald Trump.

What is known about his character? What is known about his allegiance to the Nation and his political party? We know that he is highly loyal to Donald Trump?

What if Donald Trump is prosecuted and found guilty of:

1. Emolument Clause violation
2. Misprision of Fraud violation
3. Lying as a Federal Government Representative
4. Collusion or Treason

Kushner would likely do alright living on his family's assets unless he too is caught up in the net by the Treasury, FBI, and NSA agents.

By association, his political career is doomed.

Party Platform and Presidential Manifesto

One headline this morning from The Hill talks about "Conservative media" and its coverage of the conflict inside the Republican Party about its agenda. A statement caught my attention that says "conservative media has always been held to a higher standard than liberal media."  First, that is baloney. Second, that is not newsworthy. Such is a distraction from the real story.

Instead, the news is about the Republican Party Platform and Trump Presidential Manifesto and how they are misaligned internally. Second, both are misaligned with the needs of the majority of American citizens.

Analysis

The Republican Party is divided among factions. President Trump was astonished by the degree of factionalism and disharmony inside "his" party. Do you remember when Trump was vacillating about whether or not align with Republicans? He wondered if they wanted him or not? Party members wondered about him too.

The trouble begins when a political party, be it Republicans or Democrats put off their Party Platform development until late in the election cycle. There is little time or resource to permit robust participation by candidates in the process. Citizens have a small window in which to obtain a copy and to review its contents before it is off to the races.

A party platform is a core foundation document from which presidential candidates develop explicit manifestos that describe details from which to produce actionable policy and legislation. When this essential activity is left to the end of the cycle, then it is underdeveloped and not well vetted as is in the case of Donald Trump.

The entire presidential vetting and campaigning process requires more time and should begin earlier with the development and publication of the Party Platform followed by the Presidential Manifesto that is a detailed description of what a candidate proposed to accomplish in two four-years terms of office.

Recommendation

Political Parties need to reconsider the cycle and timing in developing Platforms and Manifestos as well as standards for their content as I am publishing a new book about the subject.

“Conservative media has always been held to a higher standard than liberal media, and as conservatives, we have to live up to that higher standard,” said Matthew Continetti, the editor in chief of the Washington Free Beacon. “When we don’t, it not only undermines our work as journalists but also the conservative project as a whole.”

Can Republicans work with Democrats?

John Kasich made an appeal of sort speaking with Dana Bash on CNN. He said that Republicans must reach to Democrats to on important things such as health care. He believes that Trump has learned his lesson.

What is right and wrong about this opinion?

  1. Kasich is correct that bipartisanship is essential in a pluralistic democratic government.
  2. He is wrong that Donald Trump has learned his lesson. Trump continues with a hostile and arrogant tone that undermines a way forward.

Kasich sounds like the moderate Republican that he is. He represents about 25% of the Republican Party. He and his kind might be good partners with Democrats in addressing solution development.

There is no indication that Republicans have learned a thing.

Kasich: Trump needs to work with Democrats on health care
By Eli Watkins, CNN
Updated 3:07 PM ET, Sun March 26, 2017
Trump's budget director, Mick Mulvaney, said Sunday he had "no idea" why he couldn't get the conservative House Freedom Caucus to support the bill.
"Is the Republican Party capable of governing?" Mulvaney said in an interview on NBC's "Meet the Press."
During negotiations on the bill, conservative lawmakers balked at tax credits in the legislation, which they viewed as a form of entitlement, and ultimately sought to repeal Obamacare's entire insurance regulation infrastructure.
In the face of the bill's failure, the Trump administration is moving on from health care for the time being, even though the President promised to repeal and replace the law, Mulvaney said. He added that the administration would get back to repealing Obamacare "when it breaks," which he insisted was inevitable.
"We've moved on to other things," Mulvaney said.
The report on the GOP bill from the Congressional Budget Office as well as an assessment from S&P, a financial service, and analysis company, have said Obamacare was not imploding.

Pro-GOP Politician, Pirro Blames Ryan

Indict the Republican Party and here is why.

A Fox News commentator, Jeanine Pirro is a former prosecutor, District Attorney, and Republican political candidate from the state of New York. She decided to take sides in the Obamacare repeal and replace debacle by blaming it all on Paul Ryan.

Here are the facts of the matter from an analyst's view.

A President who campaigned on repealing and replacing Obamacare with something far better that would ensure everyone with health care at lower cost and with more choices should have walked into the office with legislation to go. Instead, Trump was long on words, short on content and ignorant about the process.

How do you blame that on Paul Ryan?

To be fair, Paul Ryan and his House of Representatives promised to repeal Obamacare. For half of the Members of the Republican House, that would have been fine because they have no desire to address the need. Let the chips fall where they may.

The other half of the Republican House, the moderates, may have wanted to repeal and replace Obamacare with something more market-driven as they and Trump implied. However, just as Trump was empty, so they too lacked competence to produce better legislation.

Who is to blame? The Republican Party carries the responsibility because it is the source of dysfunctional government. The evidence is clear, and the judgment against them is guilty.

Jeanine Pirro is now a political hack in decline, and she is making a poor choice in defending Trump unless she intends to become his defense counselor when he is hauled before the court for all sorts of violations including treason. Trump and Fox News are in collusion like Trump and the Russians to spread their propaganda. The GOP is going along by spreading it with this email.

"After Trump Tweet, Fox's Pirro Says Ryan Needs to Resign
Fox News host Jeanine Pirro on Saturday slammed House Speaker Paul Ryan for the healthcare replacement failure and questioned his agenda hours after President Donald Trump told his Twitter followers to tune into her show.
Trump tweeted: “Watch @JudgeJeanine on @FoxNews tonight at 9:00 P.M.”

America, at war with The White House and Congress

Trump's actions are likely complicit in the act of war against the US by Russians.

The trail of Trump and the Russians likely began before the Russian cyber attack against the U.S. that included a propaganda blitz and leaks intended to interfere with the American election of 2016. It included specific acts to influence an outcome favorable for Donald Trump.

Their initiative to infiltrate U.S. politics began by leveraging business consultants and relationships. Employing acts that are common among gangsters, the Russians sought individuals whose morals are soft and easily corrupted. They saw Donald Trump as being vulnerable when his corporation had a series of significant financial failures.

Other unscrupulous individuals, some of which are capitalists, found their motivation from consulting fees. There may have been something larger in play. If the participants could get an individual into the U.S. Presidency, then that incumbent could initiate policies favorable to their business interests. There could be some big plays in the petroleum industry, for instance. There could also be big plays in commercial development.

Today's news is that Democratic leaders are characterizing the Russian's involvement as being an act of war. Yes, it is because cyber attacks are acts of war or terrorism. When it is state-sponsored, that would be an act of war.

The FBI and CIA have a list of operatives and individuals who are part of their investigation. Who are the names who have appeared in public about which we citizens and journals know?

Behind the scenes, Treasury, FBI, and NSA agents are pouring over the Trump books and following the money. They have conducted surveillance and have much information about Trump surrogates and their conversations with Russian agents.

It is likely that Vladimir Putin is covering his tracks by assassinating those who might connect the dots on the Russian side of the equation. There are bankers involved including those in Cyprus about which information is known.

Roger Stone

"Journalists have pinpointed at least 12 occasions, starting on Aug. 10, when Stone predicted bombshell disclosures about Clinton or her campaign staff. Almost always they mention WikiLeaks, and several times Stone claimed to be in touch with WikiLeaks boss Julian Assange.
At first, Stone seemed to imply that he was directly in touch with Assange. “I’ve actually communicated with Julian Assange,” he told a Republican gathering on Aug. 10. Six days later, he said during an Info Wars interview that he had “backchannel communications” with Assange, who was ready to unleash “political dynamite” on the Clintons.
Later, he softened his claim a bit to say their communication was “through an intermediary, somebody who is a mutual friend.”

Donald Trump

"October 2007: Trump said Putin's doing a great job
"Look at Putin -- what he's doing with Russia -- I mean, you know, what's going on over there. I mean this guy has done -- whether you like him or don't like him -- he's doing a great job in rebuilding the image of Russia and also rebuilding Russia period," Trump told Larry King on CNN.
December 2011: Trump praised Putin's "intelligence" and "no-nonsense way" in his book
"Time to Get Tough."
"Putin has big plans for Russia. He wants to edge out its neighbors so that Russia can dominate oil supplies to all of Europe," Trump said. "I respect Putin and Russians but cannot believe our leader (Obama) allows them to get away with so much...Hats off to the Russians."
June 2013: Trump wonders if Putin will be his "new best friend"
"Will he become my new best friend?" Trump asked of Putin in a tweet wondering whether Putin would attend the 2013 Miss Universe pageant Trump brought to Moscow.
October 2013: Trump says Putin is outsmarting the US
"I think he's done really a great job of outsmarting our country," Trump told Larry King after Putin successfully dissuaded the US from striking Syria by arranging with the US for the removal of Syria's chemical weapons.
July 31, 2015: Trump says they'd get along
"I think I'd get along very well with Vladimir Putin. I just think so," Trump said in one of his first comments about the Russian leader since launching his presidential bid last June.
Oct. 11, 2015: Trump says they had good ratings together
Asked on CBS' "Face the Nation" about similarities between him and Putin, Trump pointed to their appearance on same edition of "60 Minutes."
"I think the biggest thing we have is that we were on '60 Minutes' together and we had fantastic ratings. One of your best-rated shows in a long time," Trump joked. "So that was good, right? So we were stable mates."
Trump said he and Putin "are very different," but that they would "get along very well."
"I think that I would probably get along with him very well. And I don't think you'd be having the kind of problems that you're having right now," Trump said.
Nov. 10, 2015: Trump reiterates that he and Putin "were stablemates"
"I got to know him very well because we were both on '60 Minutes,' we were stablemates, and we did very well that night," Trump said, despite the fact that he and Putin had been interviewed in separate countries at different times for the same news program.
It's a comment Trump has repeatedly made at rallies.
Dec. 17, 2015: Trump returns Putin's praise
Donald Trump issued a statement after Putin praised the real estate mogul as a "talented person" and "the absolute leader of the presidential race."
"It is always a great honor to be so nicely complimented by a man so highly respected within his own country and beyond," Trump said in a statement. "I have always felt that Russia and the United States should be able to work well with each other towards defeating terrorism and restoring world peace, not to mention trade and all of the other benefits derived from mutual respect."
Trump took heat from his GOP rivals for the statement, but refused to back down.
Dec. 18, 2015: Trump defends against allegations Putin has ordered the killings of journalists
"He's running his country and at least he's a leader, unlike what we have in this country," Trump said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe." "I think our country does plenty of killing also."
Feb. 17: Trump says he'd be "crazy" to disavow Putin's praise
"I have no relationship with him other than he called me a genius. He said Donald trump is a genius and he is going to be the leader of the party and he's going to be the leader of the world or something," Trump said, embellishing Putin's praise.
"These characters that I'm running against said, 'We want you to disavow that statement.' I said what, he called me a genius, I'm going to disavow it? Are you crazy? Can you believe it? How stupid are they."
"And besides that wouldn't it be good if we actually got along with countries. Wouldn't it actually be a positive thing. I think I'd have a good relationship with Putin. I mean who knows," he continued.
April 28: Trump says maybe they'll get along
"Maybe we will, maybe we won't," Trump says when asked by Bill O'Reilly about whether he and Putin would have a good relationship.
"I'm saying that I'd possibly have a good relationship. He's been very nice to me," Trump said. "If we can make a great deal for our country and get along with Russia that would be a tremendous thing. I would love to try it."
July 28: Trump says he'd be firm with Putin
"I would treat Vladimir Putin firmly, but there's nothing I can think of that I'd rather do than have Russia friendly, as opposed to the way they are right now, so that we can go and knock out ISIS with other people," Trump said at a news conference.
But that wasn't Trump's only comment on Putin during the event.
He also refused to call on Putin to stay out of the election, "I'm not going to tell Putin what to do. Why would I tell him what to do?"
"Why do I have to get tough on Putin? I don't know anything other than that he doesn't respect our country," he continued.
Trump also predicted a better US-Russia relationship under his administration.
"President Trump would be so much better for US-Russian relations. It can't be worse," Trump said.
And of course, Trump said Putin would respect him more than Clinton, his Democratic rival who has been fiercely critical of Putin.
"I don't think he has any respect for Clinton. I think he respects me. I think it would be great to get along with him," Trump said."

Paul Manafort

"Paul Manafort, who was Trump’s campaign manager at the time the first emails went public, has longstanding ties to the Russian state. He resigned in late August 2016 — right in the middle of the campaign — after a secret ledger was discovered with his name in it, suggesting he had quietly received $12.7 million between 2007 and 2012 from Ukraine’s pro-Russian former president, Viktor Yanukovych.
Just this week, evidence emerged that Manafort had, as recently as 2009, been paid by a Russian oligarch to lobby on behalf of the Kremlin in Washington."

Michael Flynn

Michael T. Flynn, a Trump campaign adviser who went on to be his national security adviser, was paid more than $65,000 by companies linked to Russia in 2015, including an American branch of a cybersecurity firm believed to have connections to Russia’s intelligence services, according to congressional investigators. Mr. Flynn was forced to resign after misrepresenting his conversations with the Russian ambassador to the United States.

Mike Pence

‘Manafort had arranged for Trump to meet with his first choice for the job on July 13: Indiana Governor Mike Pence. Afterward, the plan was for Trump and Pence to then fly back to New York together and a formal announcement would be made, a campaign source said of Manafort’s thinking.’
‘What had previously been reported as a “lucky break” by the New York Times was actually a swift political maneuver devised by the now-fired campaign manager. Set on changing Trump’s mind, he concocted a story that Trump’s plane had mechanical problems, forcing the soon-to-be Republican nominee to stay the night in Indianapolis for breakfast with the Pence family on Wednesday morning.’
‘Swayed by Pence’s aggressive pitch, Trump agreed to ditch Christie and make Pence his VP the following day, according to a source.’

Carter Page

"Last July, the month that WikiLeaks began releasing the hacked emails, Carter Page, a foreign policy adviser to Mr. Trump, visited Moscow for a speaking engagement. Mr. Page has declined to say whom he met there, but he has said they were mostly scholars."

'I alone can fix this.'

When Donald Trump made outrageous claims during the campaign, discerning and informed citizens were quick to see the red flags that this individual does not comprehend the American political system that is a pluralistic democratic republic.

Trump claimed that he alone could fix the "Obamacare" problem. When he failed to define the problem, that was an indication that he could not. When the Republican Congress repeatedly declared that they wanted to repeal Obamacare without replacing it, what did that say?

Republicans stated that they did not want to address the needs of 30 million uninsured Americans. They preferred that sick people choke the emergency rooms. They prefer that people who are sick and poor just die and go away.

That is unacceptable.

Republicans won their offices, not by being socially responsible, but by distracting uneducated citizens by making them believe that their government was their enemy. Well, today, under Republican leadership that is true.

The Trump government is not attending the needs of American citizens with economic, social, and environmental responsibility. They have set the stage for destroying the environment and continuing to pad the wealthy at the expense of the poor and middle class.

Can Trump fix this by himself? Departing from office would be a good start. Impeaching those who colluded with him would be another.

Say goodbye, Donald Trump.

Citizen's Requirements and Demands

Clean house.

Here is a message to Republicans. Put away your bad attitudes toward citizens and our nation. Listen the what citizens require and demand of you, the President and Congress.

America's Priority Outcomes

  1. Nation secured economically - 100%
  2. Nation has a sustainable economy - 100%
  3. Nation secured militarily - 100%
  4. Homeland secured from terrorists - 100%
  5. Employment opportunities for all who can work - 100%
  6. Upward mobility for all who are prepared commensurate with ability - 100%
  7. All persons provided minimal sustainment as a baseline to start - 100%
  8. Social security assured for all persons - 100%
  9. Clean air and water - 100%
  10. Best education in the world - #1
  11. Freest nation in the world - #1
  12. Lowest crime rate in the world - #1 in the least crime per capita
  13. Affordable healthcare for all citizens - 100%

America needs moderate Republicans to join with Democrats to restore civility and honesty to government. That means impeaching the Trump government and starting again. Speaker of the House Ryan must be impeached from the protocol for obstruction of justice and colluding with Trump.

Clean up the national government and let's move forward on the nation's priorities. Reset the Congress in 2018.
